Black Birds is a Sydney-based company led by Artistic Director, Ayeesha Ash, with support from Resident Choreographer, Sela Vai. It is a response to the lack of representation & misrepresentation of Women of Colour in the Australian arts.

Created by Black Birds’ Artistic Director Ayeesha Ash, with film direction by Gabrielle Dadgostar and featuring collaborators Stelly G and Ebube Uba, Our visions begin with our desires uses the premise of the ever-popular Real Housewives series to respond to the intersecting oppressions and experiences of Women of Colour in a contemporary context.
