FEMPRE$$: MOON TIDES is an all femme evening created by visual artist Hannah Brontë. Promoting the voices and talents of First Nations women, Brontë creates FEMPRE$$ events as large, themed art installations in which an ever rotating ‘femme-militia’ crew of DJs, rappers & dancers perform.

Inspired by the ocean, FEMPRE$$: MOON TIDES features West Sydney-based DJ and Producer L.Ai, RnB singer/songwriter Kealoana and poetic songstress SPVRROW.

Hannah Brontë-
“The moon’s gravitational pull causes our low and high tides as she leans closer to earth the seas rise to meet her. The full moon’s pull is a powerful metaphor to what is needed in this climate, groups to swell together able to move forcefully as one tidal wave.

The Jamigam, Vasa, Wasa, Moana or ( South Pacific Ocean) connects me to these 3 incredible performers each one hailing from grounds kissed by her breadth.

There is a magnetic pull toward the gentle during these apocalyptic times we have entered. These three powerhouses hail from Western Sydney at a time where a great divide is happening trying to break apart communities, the ocean is rising and so are we.”

Currently living in West Sydney, Kealoana is an upcoming RnB singer/songwriter and music artist. Known for having a maturity beyond her years, her soulful vocals coupled with her savvy penmanship have earned her opportunities to perform for audiences that have included the Australian Prime Minister. She secured a grant in order to record and release her recent EP titled “Someone Else”.

L.Ai is a West Sydney based aspiring music producer whose style is influenced by R&B, Reggae, Soul and Hip Hop. Regularly playing bass for A.Girl, performing events, and DJ-ing, L.Ai is always keen for a jam!

SPVRROW; a young poetic songstress from Greater West Sydney, rummages culture and sound as an artist of distinctive stature, warmth and poise. Appearing in Sydney’s music scene at the tender age of 17, SPVRROW has worked with respected artists such as Kaiit, Solange Knowles, Genesis Owusu and Masta Ace.
