As part of the Art Month Sydney Paddington gallery crawl on the 27th of March, we invite you to join us in the gallery from 6-7pm for a series of music performance lectures by members of New Age Noise.
Based out of Information + Cultural Exchange (I.C.E) in Parramatta the collective uplifts young Western-Sydney based trans, non-binary and female musicians and producers. Creating opportunities for its members, New Age Noise combats the male-domianted music industries. Four of their artists, Vicky Zeng, Alyssa Yang, Sol Alliya Yoga and Liliana Occhiuto, will talk about their music-making practices and perform live – both showcasing their skills and sharing their knowledge to audiences. This event will be hosted in our lecture theatre, which serves as a central architectural and conceptual element to our current exhibition, Textbook for Desire, placing these performances into a broader dialogue with the works in the exhibition around agency, representation, knowledge-sharing and desire.
Preceding these lectures will be a zine workshop by artist Naomi Segal from 3-5pm and a sseries of readings by Sweatshop Women from 5-6pm.
These events are all free, and all are welcome.
