Skate Flower coaster, made in collaboration with @doublesmokedhead. Each coaster is one-of-kind and hand-crafted using the bead weaving technique and high quality Miyuki beads. Miyuki beads are Japanese glass beads considered a world standard for their high quality, brilliance and uniform shape. During the making, threads are strung through and around the beads on a loom to hold them together. Rossella Petrini is an Italian multidisciplinary artist currently based in Sydney, where Rossella runs hand-embroidery workshops and works as a creative producer. Rossella experiments with a variety of media, from digital illustration to textile art, and became obsessed with bead weaving when they first started embroidering over five years ago, captivated by the history of beads. You can find more of Rossella’s work on @mokastudio or scarlclipsit.com where they take old or worn-out clothes and give them a new life with creative embroidery, embellishments and patch-working.
