Drawing on the environments and characters from Heath Franco’s installations, children are invited to imagine these worlds. What is this place like? Who else lives here? With these thoughts in mind, participants will create creatures to co-inhabit this space alongside Franco’s Carpet, Leaf and Cardboard characters.
Surreal Creatures is facilitated by Samantha Relihan, an arts educator who has worked at institutions including The Queensland Art Gallery and Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney. Samantha currently works in Public Programs and Education at Hazelhurst Arts Centre and runs workshops for diverse audiences across Sydney.
