Image: Remy Faint, Inscribed Finials with Banners (detail). 2023. Commissioned by Cement Fondu.
As an extension of his current solo exhibition in our Project Space, join artist Remy Faint in the gallery on Saturday July 15th from 2-4pm, for a clay-based workshop.
Led by Faint and his research into the ‘Library Cave’, Ornamental Impressions will capture the processes such as ceramic engraving, relief-sculpting, embossing, and calligraphic imagery used to collage and blend together disparate fragments of the displaced Library Cave collection, as seen in Faint’s exhibition.
Remy Faint is an emerging artist based on Gadigal land, Sydney. His practice is motivated by the desire to expand languages of painting by examining its global histories. While often exploring the potential of silk as a painting and sculptural device, he references objects and materials specific to his Chinese-Australian heritage.
Materials and refreshments provided. No prior experience with clay required.
Free RSVP here, all are welcome.
Faint’s exhibition The Library and the Cave continues until July 23 alongside Things that are real: Alvaro Barrington X Dean Cross in our main exhibition space.
