Curated by Directors Josephine Skinner and Megan Monte, the Art Store is a playful and provocative space that complements the ideas, materials and makers in Cement Fondu’s changing gallery shows.

The Ropes edition of the Art Store highlights Indigenous Australian artists, makers and businesses. It features celebrated La Perouse slipper shellworks by Esme Timbery and Marilyn Russell that honour the Stolen Generations, necklaces by Grace Lillian Lee, handmade soaps and native spices by Indigiearth, earrings by Yingarna Designs, objects and baskets by the Yirran Miigaydhu weavers who occupy the Project Space, and children’s Aboriginal Symbol Cards by Riley Callie, among other wonderful finds.

The Store also features Black Lives Matter T-Shirts that are made in Melbourne by Between Lines in response to Invasion Day. Cement Fondu is donating 100% of profits from T Shirt sales to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

You can also pick up second-hand funk and soul vinyl records inspired by the music in Adrian Piper’s video works, including by greats Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin and James Brown.
