The Art Store is a playful and provocative space that complements the gallery’s changing shows.

The An Appropriate Reaction edition of the Art Store features Cement Fondu commissioned unique, neon posters by Kelly Doley, which are based on the original 95-poster artwork Things Learnt About Feminism, 2014. 20% of profits from sales go to Seed Mob, Australia’s first Indigenous youth climate network who are working with the Australian Youth Climate Coalition to build a movement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for climate justice.

You can also pick up ‘We Matter’ zines by Project Space artist Eme and Lumad colouring books, with all funds donated to Sabokahan – Unity of Lumad Women.

The Art Store also features a selection of Angry Underwear. These hand-painted bras and underpants by Tania Ferrier became celebrated in the 80s and worn by the likes of Madonna and Naomi Campbell. A collection of Angry Underwear is held in the State Collection of Art Gallery of WA and will be presented in the National Survey of Australian Women’s Art at the National Gallery of Australia in 2020.

Also available to purchase are Cement Fondu X Black Birds totes, featuring images from their newly commissioned An Appropriate Reaction video work. Choose a T-shirt by Art Girl Rising listing the names of women artists and help raise awareness for gender biases in the art world. Funds from each T-shirt sale are donated to the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

The Store also stocks the publication Sweatshop Women: Volume 1, a collection of prose and poetry written by women from Indigenous, migrant and refugee backgrounds. All proceeds go to Sweatshop, a literacy movement based in Western Sydney that is devoted to empowering culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
